What are E-Signatures?

Electronic signatures or e-signatures are a method of legally signing documents or agreements using electronic systems like computers, tablets or phones instead of the more traditional pen and paper.

E-signatures are incredibly convenient as they do not require you to be with another person when signing, does not require a printer and is even more secure than a paper signature.

Whereas a normal signature only has the signature itself as proof of identity, an electronic signature can have additional information like a cryptographic hash, location information, time-stamp and even a photo of the signatory.

E-signatures are typically used in conjunction with documents produced electronically with a legal document assembly application.
